Scholarships: Jamaica Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan award.

Subjects: postgraduate study and research in any field available at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.

Open to: nationals of Commonwealth countries other than Jamaica, with university graduate qualifications or equivalent; under 35 years of age; proficiency in English essential.

Place of study: University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica.

Duration: maximum 2 years.

Value: normally covers return transportation (tourist class); approved tuition, laboratory and examination fees; yearly grant for books and apparatus; approved travel grant; and various personal allowances.

Applications: by 31 December, to respective governments, who send nominations to Jamaica, direct applications are not accepted and not acknowledged.

Programmes: First Degrees, Higher Degrees, Diplomas, Master's degrees and Certificates in numerous fields.

Open to: mainly Caribbean nationals with minimum 5 O-levels or and diplomas depending on requirements of programme.

Financial assistance: no scholarships offered but possibility of Third Country awards or scholarships from government or international sources.

Applications: by 31 March, to the Registrar.

Study Domain agriculture, business, education, engineering, health and hygiene, humanities and arts, languages, law, natural resources, natural sciences, sciences, social sciences, tourism, hotel and catering management

Programmes: Bachelor's, Master's, PhD degrees in all major fields: diploma and certificate programmes offered for certain studies.

Description: Specialized institutions: Institution of Chemical Engineers; Institution of Mechanical Engineers; Joint Board Moderators (Civil Engineers); Institution of Electrical Engineers; The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Open to: candidates with English proficiency and meeting other university requirements.
