Duration: Bachelor's: upon successful completion of 160 credits and taking a final examination or after successful defence of their diploma thesis. Master's: 80 credits longer (generally two years); Doctorate: 160 credits longer (generally 4 more years beyond Bachelor's). Studies in veterinary medicine lead to an equivalent of a Master's degree, take six years to complete and require 240 credits for graduation. (The duration and extent of studies are expressed in credit points. One credit point is equivalent to one study week, which refers to 40 hours' average input of studies on the part of the student.)
